Appetizer. Premium egg toast (feat. air fryer)

We all have eaten toast for breakfast before going to school. However, the content of the toast is different according to person. The egg toast that the reporter would like to show is done by making taste of bread’s edge better with air fryer!

Ingredients & Price

- One slice of bread - An egg - A can of spam - Mayonnaise - Half an onion 

→ Total price : 8,810 won

Direction

1. After scraping out a round hole in the middle of the bread, put the egg right in it without whipping it.

2. Place sliced onions and spam around the egg and put mayonnaise on the crust to prevent mixing flavors from the other parts.

3. Put the prepared bread into the air fryer and cook it at 200°C for seven minutes and 30 seconds to complete the high-quality egg toast.

The maker’s comments

The maker said there was no particularly delicious bread he uses. Instead, he recommended keeping the high temperature of 200°C for exactly seven minutes and 30 seconds is the secret to the flavor.

You can choose a main dish!

Main Dish A. Ra-jook (feat. pot)

The most popular instant food that Koreans consume is ramen. It is good to just eat ramen, but it is better to change the recipe and make it “Ra-bap” or “Ra-jook”. Let’s find out about Ra-jook this time. Ra-jook is a dish that is boiled with rice, canned tuna, and spam depending on the taste of person.

Ingredients & Price

- RtA noodle - A can of tuna - Rice (white rice) - An egg - A can of spam (half) 

→ Total price : 5,690 won

Direction

1. Break the ramen noodles before opening, and make them into pieces.

2. Put the broken noodle pieces and dried powder into boiling water and drop in cold rice about two minutes later.

3. After mixing the noodles and rice, drop in eggs, spam, and tuna. It is important not to break the yolk part of the egg.

4. When the egg starts to turn white, it is the right time to stop boiling. Turn the fire off and boil the food with the remaining heat. Now you have finished Ra-jook!

The maker’s comment

It is important to only use half of the spam and tuna, because they can make a good breakfast meal in the next morning. Moreover, as Ra-jook is a long-boiled recipe, it is better to use thicker “RtA noodles” rather than the thinner “Shin ramen” type.

Main Dish B. Steamed egg rice with soy sauce (feat. microwave)

Steamed egg is a very convenient, everyday dish for Koreans. Likewise, we often eat this food as a side dish but this steamed egg rice dish, which is a mixture of rice and steamed egg is not regular. Let’s look at the directions.

Ingredients & Price

- Eggs (two) - Soy sauce - Water (same amount as the eggs) - Sliced green onion

- Sesame oil - Pepper - Rice - Salt - Ramen powder (secret sauce) 

→ Total price : 6,260 won

Direction

1. Using chopsticks, whip the egg to blend the whites and yolks well. (one-to-one ratio of the mixture makes steamed eggs neither too thick nor too thin.)

2. Put the chopped green onion into the egg mixture and put a bowl of egg mixture onto a pot which is boiling.

3. Before the egg gets too overcooked, take it out the bowl, put the rice on top of the egg and put the soy sauce, sesame oil, and pepper in a 2:1:1 ratio.

4. Cook the food in the microwave for three minutes.

The maker’s comment

The maker said that this dish was created when she lacked the right number of dishes for both a steamed egg dish and a rice bowl. Since the flavor was better than she thought, it is now her favorite dish. Seasoning with salt and soy sauce can be tasty but when you add ramen powder, a magic powder, it can give you an even deeper flavor.
