“To Twenty” made four promises to the students

In 2020, “To Twenty” will lead Konkuk University’s student body. The name of General Student Association (GSA), “To Twenty” means that KU’s new 2020 school year will be focused on the students. Twenty is also meaningful in the sense that it symbolizes the youth of studentsattending KU. The president of GSA is Kim Dong-hoe who studies in the Department of Educational Technology. He served as a policy member on the GSA, RE:action” in 2018. In 2019, he served as student council president on Student Association, “PAGE” for the College of Education. The vice president of GSA is Jeon Ji-woo, who is studying in the Department of Convergence Biotechnology. He had a career in finance in the GSA, “CHEONG-CHULEORAM” in 2017.

At the time of their election campaign, “To Twenty” made four big promises to the students. They said they will create a better student society, improve the university’s headquarters system and guarantee the right to study. They also promised to ensure planning and culture for the students to enjoy and to ensure welfare for a comfortable school life. There are six to eight detailed pledges within these four categories, which are made based on the needs of the students in KU. “To Twenty” said that they would make a more transparent student society by disclosing details of Student Association fee and making this mandatory. The University Restructuring Committee system will be established so that the committee will try not to give unilateral notice to students so that the opinions of the students are reflected and the rights and interests of the students will be guaranteed.


“To Twenty” will also pursue the need to disclose students’ detailed scores and guarantee anonymity in the evaluation of lectures to ensure students’ right to learn. They also want students to be able to see a lecture plan before applying. Furthermore, “To Twenty” promised welfare for disabled students. For those with disabilities who are uncomfortable with taking classes. They said that they will guarantee the right of disabled students to learn by carefully placing classes and using E-learning subtitles. They will readjust smoking stations and set up smoking booths so that non-smoking students do not suffer from poorly designated smoking areas.


The president of GSA and the vice president said in “To Twenty”’s inauguration, “We will always have communication, passion, change, and core values of “To Twenty”, communicate with our students all the time and make meaningful changes for our students with the same enthusiasm as twenty. Moreover, that change will always be directed at us.”
