Tuition reduction campaign in 2021 has begun

On January 11, the General Student Association, GONG:GAN, posted a video regarding the Tuition campaign for Konkuk University students. The Tuition Review Committee (TRC) of 2021 consists of faculty representatives and student representatives that review the level of tuition. There are three objectives for this committee. First, to prevent unilateral tuition setting. Second, to check if tuition is leveled correctly for KU students. Third, to demand guaranteed learning rights and a better educational atmosphere. Moreover, they have announced five goals for the year to make sure that the approximately 170 billion won of tuition is used effectively for KU students. The GSA requested that they have as much attention and participation as possible to accomplish the goals.
Every week, TRC has been promoting the campaign by hanging banners at KU and uploading card news. GONG:GAN posted promotional materials of the campaign on its Instagram and Facebook. Furthermore, since offline campaigns were not possible due to the COVID-19, they have made two “challenges1)” that students can participate in online. The students were able to join the campaigns by filling in blanks in the sentences and posting them on social media. The sentences were “Our tuition must be used for ______.” and “I pay my tuition to/for _______.”
