Enthusiastic cooperation with the youths of Gwangjin-gu

 From September 22 to 23, 2023, the youth culture STREET festival "2023 Youth Boulevard BLOOMING" was held by young people in Gwangjin-gu , including students from Konkuk University and Sejong University(SJU). Gwangjin-gu held the festival at Gwangjin Square and Neungdong-ro Fountain Square. This is the first youth culture festival promoted by them. KU and SJU general student associations (GSA), and local youth cultural organizations, all took part in the planning stage.
 The festival began with the promotion of a global youth festival and a youth club presentation as part of the creation of a specialized street for culture and arts in the university district of Gwangjin-gu. On top of that, Park Kang-san, a member of the Seoul Metropolitan Council, created and implemented a youth festival budget. It combined the young people and college students in Gwangjin-gu during last year's budget review process, and the "2023 Youth Boulevard" festival was held the result. A total of 245 million won was spent on the budget, including 200 million won from the
Seoul Metropolitan Government and 45 million won from Gwangjin-gu
 On the 22nd, the first day of the festival, a youth film festival, a youth song festival, athcelebratory performances were held at Gwangjin Square. At the youth film festival, which began at 1 p.m., "Next Sohee," a youth human rights film about the reality of high school field trainees, was screened. 15 teams, including youth indie bands, performed their unique performances at the Youth Song Festival. Following the opening ceremony, a joint performance between Konkuk University and Sejong University, including the Konkuk University cheering group "OX-K," was held. The audience's shouts and reactions made the atmosphere of the festival feel fantastic. The final highlight of the first day culminated with the performance of popular singer Kwon Jin-ah, with the audience filling Gwangjin Square. Active Plaza, the venue for the first day of the festival, was noticeable at the beginning, but as time went by, young local students and residents began to fill Gwangjin Square. Many people gathered to sing and dance together when the opening ceremony and celebration performances were held.
 Meanwhile, another festival venue, the Neungdong-ro Fountain Square, is decorated as a healing space for those who enjoyed the festival. Beanbags and flea markets were available so people could sit and relax comfortably. In addition, various festival participation booths and food trucks were also operated at the festival site. Food trucks reflecting the preferences of visitors were installed in various buildings, including the square, and many visitors enjoyed delicious street food while watching the festival. Many people were able to taste various kinds of food in one festival place, so people were able to taste all of them while enjoying the festival.
 On the 23rd, the second day of the festival, e-sports broadcasts, job talk shows, youth dance festivals and youth talk shows were conducted. Also, special performances by singer Cherry Filter were held. The youth talk show was hosted by job YouTuber Kang Min-hyuk and travel YouTuber KwakTube, who had time to gather together and solve the practical concerns and difficulties of young people. In the process of sharing each other's concerns and difficulties together, it was possible to understand the different concerns of young people, and in the process of solving the concerns together, the unity of the region itself increased. In particular, in the special performance of singer Cherry Filter, many audiences gathered together and sang along, showing unity.
 The 2023 Youth Boulevard BLOOMING Festival was meaningful in that it provides a necessary stage for young artists in Gwangjin-gu and provides audiences with a variety of cultural experiences. In addition, the festival has established itself as an important event that supports young people's creativity and artistic passions, as well as strengthening ties and unity with the local community, and contributes to elevating Gwangjin-gu to the center of culture and arts. Full of young and fresh energy and creativity, the festival also played an important role in revitalizing the local community, enjoying various arts and cultural activities.
