Konkuk University places seventh in JoongAng Daily's University Ranking

Konkuk University has recently placed 7th in the 2022 National University Ranking by JoonAng Daily. JoonAng Daily is one of the most popular newspaper companies in Korea, and lots of people pay attention to their annual University Rankings. It is their 29th National University Ranking this year, and KU is reported to have made unbelievable progress. Its rank has been rising for some time now. In 2015, KU was 21st, and it was 2016 when it finally got in the top 20. For three consecutive years, it placed fifteenth, then rose to fourteenth in 2019. After placing eleventh last year, it finally leaped into the top ten for the first time ever in 2022. It was a surprise to everyone that it not only opened the gates to the top ten ranking, but scored even higher, reaching seventh place.  KU put up banners all over the school- lamp posts, main gates, the library- and proudly presented their record.
KU took eighth place in the Professor Research sector and ninth in reputation, increasing immensely over the years. The Student Education sector in particular, which evaluates a combination of employment rates and student founding education, rose from ninth place last year to third this year. Evaluators said that they focused on schools that continued student support even through the hardships of COVID-19. Among most things, KU is praised for supporting student founding, setting it as the power of the university's development. It is being known as a Software-centerd university and is supported by the Leaders in INdustry-university Cooperation. KU has been paying attention to providing students with sufficient infrastructure for start-ups, so places like 'KU Start-up Zones' were made. There are various packages for Start-up starters so they will not get lost.
KU celebrated this record by holding a social media event among KU students where they could get a prize if they uploaded a picture of the campus. President Yungjae Jeon expressed that he and the members of the school will work harder to be in the top five universities in Korea and the top 100 universities in the world.
