Nowadays, convenience stores are providing a variety of instant foods such as lunchboxes, samgak gimbap, and instant noodles. Hence people, especially students, are frequently using convenience stores to buy a simple meal which is cheap and delicious. However, some people were not satisfied by the products which convenience stores provide, so they create new recipes in their own unique way. In this article, a reporter of The Konkuk Bulletin invited foreign exchange students: Apolline (France), Teemu (Finland), and Saulo (Ecuador) and cooked four recipes which are the most popular on the Internet. Now, let us look at those recipes with foreign and Korean students who have not experienced them yet.

Mark Jeongsik

Cook one spaghetti instant noodles and giant tteokbokki via methods which are described on those products.

After, take a skewer of sausage and slice this!

Mix the prepared ingredients, add cheese, and use a microwave oven for one minute and 30 seconds.

Comments

Nice and spicy. It is mixed very well.

Fresh mixture!

It is large in quantity for two people to fill a simple meal and tastes good. (It is called Hye-ja in Korea)

Tipbox

Mark Jeongsik was created by a fan who likes Mark, a member of GOT7. One day, a fan searched “Mark” on the website, but the first word seen while searching was “Minecraft”. Thus, for promoting Mark, Mark Jeongsik was made.”

Sarigomtang dumplings

➊ Heat up the dumplings by using a microwave oven.

➋ Put dumplings in sarigomtang and pour hot water. There is also a unique method, which samgak gimbap is added to sarigomtang dumplings. In this situation, you have to pour hot water more than usual.

Comments

Good flavor! Anyone would enjoy it.

I think that it would have been better if you added cheddar into it.

I like the fact that it is simple to make, but it tastes like something I have eaten.

Takoyaki

Mix takoyaki snack and dried squid.

Add cheese for flavor and mayonnaise to get a better taste.

Use a microwave oven for 40 seconds. Be careful, since dried squid can get hard when you use the microwave oven for a long time.

Comments

I think it is interesting that you can make takoyaki through products of convenience store.

Looks good, but tasted like cereals with dried squid.

It is better to eat takoyaki only as a snack.

Jjapaguri

Cook Jjapageti by the method which is written on this product.

Pour water in the Nuguri to boil the noodles. Then throw away the water and add soup to it.

Mix them all together.

For people who favor less spicy foods, it may be good to reduce the amount of the sauce. Furthermore, when eating alone, it is good to reduce the amount of the ramen. As you can see, it can be made in two ways according to the method of manufacture, so I suggest that you find out a method that fits your taste!

Comments

It tastes like an instant buljjajang. I would like to try this at home.

I cannot tell the difference between Jjapageti and Jjapaguri.

It has a subtle taste. I like this food, but I think two flavors do not blend well.
