Every student can be provided with major experience at home

Konkuk University has offered programs for high school students who want to enter KU. KU major experience is a program where high school students visit the college campus and meet enrolled students in person. However, it became difficult to carry on the program face-to-face due to COVID-19. Therefore, KU uploaded videos about the introduction to majors on its YouTube channel. Since more specific information was still required, it was decided to launch KU Major Guidebook.

KU Major Guidebook is a digital book provided in PDF format. It has been available on the website of the Office of Admissions since March 2021. It can be found here : https://enter.konkuk.ac.kr/resources/img/sub/KU_intro_info.pdf

It includes not only major and career paths but also statistics on employment rates, extracurricular courses, certificates, converging between majors, recommended internships, vocational experiences, and sites to obtain additional information. In particular, the major class tracks show how each major course is connected. It contains industry sectors and exact names of the companies that graduate students have gotten in to. This kind of information can simulate students’ campus life from starting university to graduating from the major they chose.

This guidance was originally offered only to enrolled students. However, KU reorganized and shared it with high school students to help them to get information easier during thepandemic. KU expects that it will help to attract excellent students by enhancing the university’s image.
