KU seeks brand value in celebration of its anniversary

Konkuk University held a Merchandise Design Idea Contest to increase its brand value in celebration of Konkuk University Foundation’s 90th anniversary and the 75th anniversary of the school’s opening. The contest ran from July 13 to August 12, and among the numerous entries four teams were selected by the judges from the Office of Public Affairs. Symbolism, creativity, commercial potential, and artistry were included in judging criteria.

KU Tea Set won the grand prize. The tea set consists of three kinds of tea each representing a different image of campus life. Konkuk Campus Pop-up Calendar took second place for its design. The calendar with school mascot Ku pops out when it is opened.

Participation awards went to KU Jenga and “Gunhyangeul Damda”, a hand cream. KU Jenga has dozens of quizzes related to KU, offering an opportunity to form close relationship between freshmen and seniors.

These designs will be released as products to promote the university, as they are handed out to middle and high school students touring the campus, KU faculty, staff and students, and partners of the university. They will also be sold in the school souvenir shop.
