Internship obligatory completion system reformed

Regulations related to Internship system were revised in 2018. This new system has been applied to students entering KU since 2017. Completing internship had been compulsory. However, each department still has its own defined rules. As a result, in February, 2021, school law was reformed again to unify the system.

To meet the requirement of the internship system, student can choose subject or non-subject area. In the subject area, students should take one of “Field education approval subject” specified in the school law. Field education is system that provides student chances to learn about actual field work and ability required.

In the case of the non-subject area, there are three conditions for students to satisfy. First, students should finish the KU Core Competences Assessment(KUCCA), test invented by Center for education Quality management1)to measure and enhance six core abilities2). Second, student should get at least 150 points of Konkuk University Mileage(KUM) by listening extracurricular classes listed in WE:IN site. Those classes are classified into three area, following the concept of KU’s talent3). Lastly, student must complete at least one subject in each area. Students can check their present status of certification at the “Learning management” section.

To avoid confusion from the change, if student satisfy original graduation requirement before February 2022, graduation will be permitted regardless of their admission year.
