Students experience the ORIGINAL campus life

The 54th student council REBOOT held its first school event ‘The week of getting back a daily life’. The purpose of this grand event was to restore “the lost daily life taken by COVID-19”, as face-to-face classes are held in earnest and COVID-19 regulations are eased. At this event held from May 25 to 27, various booths and performances were prepared: KU Champions League, KU Drawing, COZY Zone, KU-ook, Tattoo you, KU three-cut photo booth, Ilgamho Boating Ship and various club performances.
KU Champions League was a soccer tournament held at Konkuk University Stadium from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. from May 25 to 26, with a total of 14 teams participating, including the champion team, “Chanwoo Yai”. KU Drawing was a booth where many students participated in decorating, coloring, and designing their own Ku, the mascot of KU. COZY zone held at the Outdoor Theater from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on May 25 and 27 was where you could enjoy the afternoon watching different movies while eating offered popcorn. KU-ook was an event that leaves students' footsteps by stamping their palms on a large piece of drawing paper on one side of the booth. Tattoo You was a booth where you could try different KU mascots’ tattoo stickers. KU threecut photo booth was a booth held in front of the Student Union building, where you could receive a three-cut photo taken on Ku-themed film. Lastly, the Ilgamho Boating Ship was a traditional kayaking event circling the Ilgamho enjoying the view of campus . Students were able to enjoy the scenery which was only seen on the way to school, and make pleasant memories with their friends.
Not only booths but also club performances played a huge role at the event. The band performances were presented on the podium in front of the College of Business Administration building, and the dance team performances were presented at the bull statue in front of the New Millennium Hall. A total of 11 teams, including Wanna Family, Oxon, and many others participated in the club performances. Numbers of audiences gathered to watch these performances.
In addition, many food trucks were parked along with the Konkuk gate, forming a "food truck road." There were tables and chairs in places, so students were able to relax and eat up their food. Therefore, they could fully enjoy the fresh spring weather and the beautiful scenery of the campus while eating delicious food. Sitting and chatting, students had a wonderful time leaving unforgettable memories.
‘The week of getting back a daily life’ received keen attention and expectations from students as it was a large-scale face-to-face event held in two years, involving all departments of KU. Through this event, students could all learn how the school events were held before COVID-19. Starting with this, there is an official school festival planned for the second semester. As ‘The week of getting back a daily life’ successfully ended, it can be seen that it will not be long before to get back to our “ORIGINAL campus life” before the pandemic.
