After coexisting with COVID-19, face-to-face classes have begun at Konkuk University, and the school is now full of energy. Many facilities, which had been closed, are gradually restarting operations. It would be good for students to stop by the facilities and to enjoy their leisure time between classes. In this Campus Life, KU students will get detailed information about the school facilities they can enjoy.

1. Classical Music Room
Location : Student Union Bldg A 203
Time : Monday to Thursday 10:00-16:00 / Friday 10:00-15:00
(closed on holidays and weekends)

The Classical Music Room, which reopened in May, is where students can relax while listening to classical music. All students can enter there even if they are not a member of a related club or an agent in the room. It is recommended for students who have no place to rest for a while in a situation where the opening of the common room is delayed. In particular, the lighting is dark, so you can grab a snatch of sleep. There are not only sofas but also desks and books to read, so it can be used as a studying place. The agent in the room receives music requests for students who visit to listen to classical music. Students write down the composer and music name on the paper and bring it to the agent inside the room. At other times, music is randomly selected by agents, ranging from famous ones by Mozart to Beethoven and others.
The social distancing for COVID-19 is still maintained. You must wear a mask and not bring in food to eat. Only one person per sofa is allowed, so the maximum capacity of the room is 23. The operation time is shortened due to COVID-19, and as usual, it is not open one week before the exam periods and during vacations.

2. Gift Shop
Location : Student Union Bldg A 201
Time : Monday to Friday 10:00-17:00
(closed on holidays and weekends)

A Freshmen might be particularly interested in the Gift Shop. Until the beginning of the semester, it was difficult to visit the Gift Shop because access to Student Union Bldg was restricted. Now, it has been opened so that students can enter without their student ID card, and the operation of the Gift Shop is being actively carried out.
The Gift Shop sells a variety of products including a pen carved with KU mark, stationery, clothing, and mascot KU badges. If students miss the group purchase of school jackets, they can buy it there. They can also embroid their name on it. For more information, it is recommended to inquire by phone or visit. (010-4330-4978)

Tip! Kumall
Kumall is the online group purchase website of the Gift Shop. However, Kumall only sells clothes such as fleeces, sweats, and jumpers. Students can apply for the group purchase and customize them. For not missing the temporary group purchase period, they can be advised through the website. (https://www.kumall.co.kr)

3. KU Cinematheque

KU Cinematheque is an independent art film theater located on campus. Industrial and franchise films are also screened, but KU Cinematheque is special in that they mainly deal with independent films. “Now screening” in June included Land and
Housing (2020) and Broker (2022). The ticket price for an adult is 9,000 won from

4. Greenhouse
Location : Forest behind Education Science Bldg
Time : Contact is needed

KU is often used as a film location because of its beautiful campus. The Greenhouse was used in Oki's Movie (2010). However, it is relatively less known because it is totally deserted. You find it by walking along the forest behind the Sanghuh Memorial Library.
The exterior of the Greenhouse is surrounded by small plants. The Greenhouse itself is made of glass, so it is good to take a picture on a sunny day. The interior looks like a botanical garden. There are many experimental trees such as Bee-bee trees and capsicum, and there are camellia flowers. After passing through the garden in the middle, you can find smart farms and lecture rooms where professors conduct experiments.
It is currently used as a laboratory for professors and students from the Department of Environmental Health Sciences and the Department of Forestry and Landscape Architecture. Therefore, it is not possible to enter without permission. Visiting there and taking a walk around is a good experience, but if you want to see the inside, you should contact in advance and get permission. (02-447-7705 or 010-4042-5132)
