The last 50 years of the College of Architecture and graduation exhibition

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Konkuk University's college of architecture, the 50th graduation exhibition of 2022 was held in the lobby on the first floor of its own building. The graduation exhibition was open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and was also available on weekends. No tickets were needed for viewing and it was open to everyone for free. Pencils were placed next to the exhibition hall, allowing visitors to take them as a souvenir after viewing the exhibition. The official posters use the pattern of Kim Myung-joon's work, "How to Survive the Digital Art Ecosystem through the Urban Data Center," which was displayed at the exhibition.
The exhibition hall was filled with various graduation works, including architectural research, new proposals, and interesting analyses as well as architectural models. Of
special note, were the works that won the 18th Architectural Structure Contest. This highlighted the status of our university’s College of Architecture. Choi Ha-neul and Yang Ha-joon's work, "Over the Horizon" won the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award for planning a logistics center in the city using space above the river. The logistics center not only effectively transports logistics in the crowded city, but also promotes companies and raises awareness through offline stores.
The exhibition hall was filled with bouquets and gifts to celebrate the graduation exhibition of architecture students. In addition, visitors were able to participate in a post card event where they could write about their favorite works after viewing the exhibition and they were then eligible to receive prizes through a lottery. In addition, a post-it display was prepared at the exhibition hall, so people were able to give words of support to the students who prepared the graduation exhibition.
Along with the graduation exhibition of architecture students, photos of the history of Konkuk University were provided to mark the 50th anniversary of the College of
Architecture. Going up stairs from the first floor to the fifth floor along the Exhibition route, people can see 10 years of history of Konkuk University on each floor.
On September 23, the College of Architecture Festival was also held in Building No. 251 along with the exhibition. Not only students but also graduates participated in the event, holding opening ceremonies and enjoying barbecue parties. Some of the works displayed at the graduation exhibition can be found on the archive Instagram account (@ku_weive) of Konkuk University College of Architecture.
