As the second semester begins, the campus is filled with students again. Among them, it is easy to find those enjoying cultural experiences right here on campus. Each college is promoting themselves with new and exciting activities. These activities let us know what the college is about and it is also a good opportunity to meet new friends. In this Campus Life, we will introduce events held by various colleges after the first semester, events held with other universities, and help you keep in touch with the information for later events.

1. Undergraduate majors
1.1. Art & Design: “Gene-ne”

“Gene-ne” is an exhibition by Moving Pictures & Interaction club in the Department of Communication Design. They introduced how genes have the ability to connect animals and the environment and how lots of different genes can coexist. In the exhibition, you could see illustrations and explanations on coexisting creatures, aestheically beautiful quotes and the process of analyzing genes. There was even a booth where you could try out things on your own. You can find more information at the addresses above.

1.2. Art & Design: Hexagon and Flea market
Location: Art & Design building B103
Time: September 15 to September 17

Hexagon is an integration exhibition of the College of Art & Design. Students are able to display whatever they want: the Department of Apparel Design put up clothes they made or reformed themselves and the Department of Living Design showcased handmade ceramics. It was open to anyone within the College of Art & Design, so everyone could show their hard work. Students from other colleges had to get a ticket to enter, so from September 13 to September 14 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., tickets were distributed in front of Student Hall. Any Konkuk University student could get the tickets. There was even a food truck greeting them, with foods like churros, fried chicken, tteokbokki and kimbap.Students were also informed about the Hexagon event. All they had to do was find a Hexagon sticker on the walls near the exhibition, take a picture and send it to their instagram account. Participants received stickers and A4 L-shaped holders as a reward.

1.3. Contemporary Arts: 'Change in sense'

One of the clubs in the Department of Contemporary Arts, “cover:re” held an exhibition with the topic 'sense'  on the last week of September. If you uploaded on social media to tell that you have been there, you had a chance to get a gift voucher. There were participatory pieces where viewers could use their 
fingers to make stamps and leave a mark. The white room was filled with explanations next to the pieces, and a souvenir sticker was also given to everyone.

1.4. Music education: Fall Concert
Location: New Millenium Hall B1
Time: September 28, 7 p.m.
The students in the department of music education greeted autumn with a concert. It was very special to each and every one of them because it was the first time in three years that they were doing a face-to-face concert. They were to play about twelve songs in total, and the best thing about it was that you did not need tickets or entrance fees and could just attend to enjoy the show. There were solos, duets, even quintets playing, so it was a good opportunity to fall into the beauty of collaborative music.

1.5. The College of Social Science: A Night of  Culture
Location: Sanghuh Hall
Time: September 29, 6:30 p.m.
On September 29, the College of Social Science had two events for the Night of Culture. First, they held a picture contest from September 15 to September 21. The topic was ”When is your most loved moment in Konkuk University?” and there were three categories: scenery, friend, and free topic. Three pieces were chosen from each category, with a total nine pieces which was displayed on the first floor lobby of Sanghuh Hall. It was a participatory event in that students could vote on their favorite piece. 
The winner was given a film camera. Other than this, a Sanghuh film festival also took place with the movie 'About Time' on September 29 6:30 p.m. The first 85 students could get free corn dogs, popcorn and coke.

2. Events with other schools
2.1. Gwangjin-gu occupation war with  Sejong University

Location: Sejong and Konkuk University
Time: September 13 to October 1

For about a month, the Gwangjin-gu occupation war was held between clubs of Sejong and Konkuk University. It was planned 
by the class of 2018 to 2021, who are referred to as 'the class of COVID-19'. There were four categories to this: exhibition, performance, sports and e-sports. The exhibition was participated by calligraphy and astronomical observation clubs from both schools from September 13 to 14 in KU's Student Hall. Performances of the dance team and the band could be seen on the 14th in Children's Grand Park. From 21 to 23, sports like soccer, basketball, badminton, table tennis, climbing and so much more 
were competed. Each time they win a game, they could occupy an area in Gwangjin-gu and the school with the most area won. Sejong University won an online match of League of Legends on the 12th and a programming match on the 19th and got Gwangjang-dong and Neung-dong. KU Junggok4-dong by winning a hip-hop-off. It was held on Youtube from September 22 to 25 and scored higher with a surprising number of over 25,000 views. Hwayang-dong and Gunja-dong, where both schools are located, was referred to as the 'Demilitarized Zone'(DMZ), and instead blossomed with friendship 
with the aforementioned exhibition.
